03.01 General

The Aviation Calculator has scales on one side which enable all calculations necessary for planning a flight to be
made. This side is marked Flight Calculator. The other side is used for flight navigation using the wind triangle
method. This side is marked *Flight Navigator.

  • The common international abbreviations and definitions in English, as given in the Aerospace Dictionary
(published by Motorbuch Verlag 2002) as far as they are available, are used in the following examples of
    calculations.

The introduction starts off by explaining the general use of the calculation scales using straightforward examples
and then leads on step by step to the complex arithmetic and geometric flight navigation techniques.

Now look at the Flight Calculator side of the aviation calculator.
